About Me

I am Adrien Savary, a French painter based in Amsterdam. I have always been attracted to the medium, but only recently made the time to properly explore it. I am just beginning my journey and am currently focusing on repetition and smaller formats. I hope to move on to larger works soon.

What draws me to painting is the process — the textures, the immediacy of the gesture. I embrace the randomness of brushstrokes and color, letting them guide me beyond what was initially planned. I enjoy the sense of discovery that comes with this approach.

Some of my favorite artists — to name just a few — are Henri Matisse, Matthew Wong, Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Paul Cézanne, Robert Savary, Joan Mitchell, Edvard Munch, Claude Monet, David Hockney, Mark Rothko, Nicolas de Staël, Edward Hopper...

As a painter, I like to think that I can explore ideas others have touched on before — developing them within my own abstract world to engage in my own dialogue with various periods, movements and artists.
